Skip pure yellow on every stripe. Real bumble bees carry amber, ochre and near white bands, and varying the warm tones down the abdomen stops the page looking flat.
Leave the wings almost bare. Bee wings are transparent, so a pale grey or light blue wash with the vein lines left white looks right, where a solid fill kills the effect entirely.
