Mermaid Helping A Sailor On A Wrecked Ship Coloring Page

A small sailing boat sits low in heavy water and a mermaid has risen beside it with one arm stretched toward the deck. The boat is finely drawn: a high curled prow, a planked hull with a band of carved rosettes along the side, two masts, one sail hanging slack and one furled to the spar, a rope ladder, a pennant at the masthead and a lantern swinging from the rigging at the top left. The mermaid's hair streams back over the hull in long combed waves and her scaled tail loops below the boat, ending in two wide flukes that break the surface. The sea is drawn in the decorative manner, long scrolling curls of water wrapping around the hull and filling the bottom third of the sheet, with two ornamental rosettes worked into the foam. Drifting bubbles and flourishes fill the upper corners. Work the water in two blues, one for the body of each curl and one for the crests, and the whole sea gains movement without any need for shading.
