Four slender towers stand shoulder to shoulder across this page, each one topped with a tall narrow cone roof and stepping up in height toward the middle so the whole front reads as a crown. The tallest carries a small triangular flag on a thin pole. Two of the towers wear a ring of square battlements at the top, and small arched windows are cut into the stone at different heights, some single, some in groups of three. In the center a round headed door sits above three plain steps, its timber drawn with a few vertical lines and a single round handle. The line is deliberately loose and slightly wobbly throughout, which gives the castle a hand drawn storybook feel rather than an architectural one. Along the base, seven or eight simple daisies grow on thin stems with one or two leaves each, standing on a single long ground line that runs the full width of the paper. There is nothing else. The whole page is built from about twenty large blank shapes, which makes it one of the best starting points in the fantasy section for a child aged four or five.
