This is the storybook castle, the one with far more spires than any real building would need. Count them and you get eight, ranging from two fat corner towers down to slim needles barely wider than the flagpole on top of the tallest. Each spire wears a conical roof, and the roofs are drawn as plain triangles with a single seam line, so they color fast. The central tower carries a balcony with a row of small columns and a crenellated crown, and below it a tall pointed archway frames a double door. From that door a winding path of stepped stones curls down and off the bottom edge of the sheet. The windows are the detail worth slowing for. Each one is a narrow lancet with a pointed head and a divided pane, and there are about ten of them scattered up the front. Two small mounds sit at the base to give the castle somewhere to stand. Everything else is white. Roofs in one strong color and walls in a single pale tone is the fastest route to something that looks deliberate.
