Castle Rising Through Clouds In The Sky Coloring Page

A tall castle pushes up through a sea of cloud, and the clouds are three quarters of this page. They are drawn as great billowing banks of scalloped bubbles stacked several layers deep, rolling in from both edges and building up to the level of the castle's second story. Woven through them are curling decorative flourishes, spirals, paisley shapes and a large ornamental flower along the bottom edge, so the cloud bank is as much pattern as weather. The castle itself is finely worked. A central tower carries a steep spire and a flag, flanked by six or seven lesser spires with scaled roofs, and a round clock face sits in the wall below, one of the few circular shapes on the sheet. A curving external staircase climbs one of the lower towers. Above the roofline the sky holds a scatter of small stars and dots. The clouds give you a rare chance to work a long gradient: start pale at the top where they meet the sky, deepen through the middle, and go darkest along the bottom where the ornament crowds in.
