Angel Blessing Scene With Rays Of Light Coloring Page

An angel stands in the middle of this sheet with her hands pressed together and her head bowed, and everything behind her is arranged to point at that gesture. A tall oval frames the figure, and inside it straight rays fan out from behind her halo like the spokes of a wheel, each one drawn as a long narrow triangle. Small decorative finials sit along the top of the oval. Her wings spread wide in three descending bands of feathers, and her robe falls in heavy parallel folds to the bottom edge. Filling the space inside the oval on both sides is a dense field of fine scrollwork, ferns and curling tendrils, drawn much lighter than the figure so that it reads as background. At the bottom, eight or nine large open flowers with round centers form a garden bed across the base of the frame. The value plan matters more than the colors here. Keep the rays pale, the scrollwork paler still, and put your strongest color in the flowers and the robe. Done that way the eye goes straight to the angel, which is what the drawing is asking for.
