The tiger stands on two legs facing you, one front paw lifted and open in a wave with four soft toe pads showing. Its belly is drawn as one large oval that takes up most of the body and is left entirely clear. Short stripe marks run down both arms, along the flanks and around the tail, which curls up at the right. The ears are round, the eyes are simple filled ovals, and the mouth is a small open smile.

That big empty oval is the reason to print this one for a young child. It gives a three or four year old somewhere to scribble freely that still looks intentional when they finish, and the stripes give an older sibling something more exact to aim at.

It also works well as a card. Fold a sheet of cardstock, print the tiger on the front, and the raised paw does the greeting without needing any words added.

Real tigers lift a front paw too, though not to say hello. A raised paw with the toes spread is part of how a cub practices swatting, and it shows up in play months before it is ever used on anything that moves.
