Freight Train Rolling Through The Countryside Coloring Page

A star-fronted locomotive leads a long line of boxcars into the distance across rolling hills and open grassland.

The locomotive comes at you from the left, angled just enough to show both its front and its flank, and behind it a line of identical boxcars runs back until the last of them is a speck. That vanishing line is the best thing on the sheet. Put strong shades on the near cars and let each one further back go paler, and the whole train seems to pull away from you.

A five pointed star is mounted on the smokebox door between two lamps, and a slatted cowcatcher angles down to the rail. One thin trail of smoke leaves the funnel and joins a pair of soft clouds overhead.

The countryside is built from easy shapes: two round trees on the left, a low clump on the right, three ranges of hills stepping back behind the train, and scattered tufts of grass in the foreground. The bottom right quarter is wide open field carrying only a few blades. Nothing there is fussy, which makes this a good pick for a child who wants to cover ground with big strokes before going back for the small parts.
