The whole liner fits on this page, pointed bow at the left and squared stern at the right, everything drawn in thick steady outlines that suit small hands. Three passengers lean on the top deck rail and wave, arms straight up and fingers spread wide. Their faces are simple and smiling and their hair is outlined rather than filled, so each one can be colored however a child likes.
Three bands of windows run along the vessel. Rounded squares sit just under the rail, a line of large circular portholes fills the middle of the hull, and a row of much smaller ones runs beneath that. The superstructure climbs in flat steps toward a little dish on a pole near the front, and a ramp shape slopes down at the forward end.
Under the hull, four long wavy lines stretch from edge to edge and stand in for the sea. They divide the lower third into wide open bands, which is about the friendliest water a beginner can be handed. The paper above the ship is completely bare, and that space is worth using for a sun, a flock of birds, or a line of holiday clouds.
