Tractor Harvesting Crops In A Wide Field

Harvest is in full swing on this sheet. A big machine makes its way across a crop field with a wide cutting header stretched out in front of it, and the header alone carries a long row of teeth that makes a satisfying strip of repeating shapes to work through. The driver sits up in the glazed cab with both hands on the wheel. Behind the machine the field splits into two textures, standing crop on one side and cut stubble laid in neat rows on the other, and that division is what gives the page its depth.

Above the horizon there is a small sun with short rays, a single bird in flight, and a low band of hills. The foreground is thick with tall stalks and seed heads drawn individually rather than as a mass.

This is one for someone with patience. The two field textures can carry two different greens, or a green set against a ripe gold, and keeping the stubble rows lighter than the standing crop will push the horizon back. Leave the sky white or give it the palest wash you have, so the machine stays the thing your eye lands on.
