This one is a landscape rather than a portrait of a machine. A tractor comes up the field toward the viewer with a farmer visible at the wheel inside the cab and an implement trailing behind on the hitch. It sits about halfway up the sheet, small enough that the land around it carries the scene.
Furrows run from the bottom edge and converge toward the horizon, each ridge drawn with broken strokes and topped by tufts of stubble. Turned soil takes up the entire lower two thirds. Above the skyline a bank of low cloud spreads across the sky and a scatter of birds wheels over the field, wings drawn as simple open curves. A lone tree stands out at the left.
Perspective is what makes this page interesting. The furrows narrow as they recede, so working them in bands that grow lighter toward the horizon will make the ground feel deep. Keep the sky pale and the birds dark enough to stand against it. The tractor itself is the one place for a strong tone, and it needs one to hold attention at that size.
