Tractor Next To A Sunflower Field

This one puts you behind the tractor rather than beside it, looking past the back of the cab into the field beyond, which is an angle you rarely get on a printable sheet. The rear wheel on the right is enormous in the frame and its chevron tread is the boldest shape here. Two mirrors reach out on thin arms either side of the cab, and the roof extends back over the rear window.

Sunflowers stand all around. Each is drawn on its own tall stem with a ring of pointed petals and a textured center disc, staggered at different heights so they never read as a hedge. A band of grass and small wildflowers fills the bottom.

Sunflowers almost fill themselves in, but the disc at the middle deserves more thought than the petals do. A brown that darkens toward the outer edge will give each head some roundness, which flat yellow petals alone cannot. Keep the machine in something that does not compete with all that gold, a deep green or a blue.
