Small Farm Tractor On A Grassy Hill

This is the quietest drawing in the set. A small tractor sits on the crown of a low grassy rise, rendered in light thin lines, and more than half the page above it is left completely empty. There is no sky detail, no horizon line, no barn, nothing behind the machine at all.

The tractor is compact and simply built, with an open canopy over the seat, a slatted grille, a short exhaust and four wheels that are modest by farm standards. The hill beneath it is covered in loose tufted grass that thins out toward the edges rather than stopping at a hard line.

All that white space is an invitation. You can leave it exactly as it is and let the tractor sit alone on its hill, which suits the mood of the drawing, or you can add your own sky, birds, clouds or fence line and make the page yours. If you do fill it, keep whatever you add pale, because the line work is fine here and a heavy sky will bury it. The grass will hold up better in two greens than in one.
