Fishing Boat Hauling In Nets At Sea Coloring Page

A wooden fishing boat rides high on the swell with her bow tipped up toward the right corner of the page. The hull is built from long curved planks, a dozen or more running stem to stern, and the bow post is banded with short diagonal strokes. Her cabin stands just forward of midships, fitted with one small square window at the side, three larger rounded ones across the front, and a plain door beside them.

The real feature here is the net. It hangs from a spar slung across the top of the sheet and falls in a broad triangle behind the cabin, filled edge to edge with open diamond mesh. Hundreds of small diamonds, each its own separate space, make that the slowest and most satisfying part to work through. A mooring rope trails from the stern at the left.

Beneath the hull the sea is drawn as row upon row of close wavy lines reaching right down to the bottom edge. Alternating two blues across those rows gives the water real movement. Both upper corners are left as empty paper for a sky, a gull, or a distant shoreline.
