Tall Tower Crane At Construction Site Coloring Page

A tall tower crane rises over a low skyline, with a long jib, a hanging hook and a great deal of open paper.

Height is the subject. A lattice mast climbs most of the way up the right side of the page and a jib stretches left across the top, with a tie cable running from the mast head out to its tip and a hook dangling on a line. A counterweight block sits on the short arm behind. At the base, low buildings and a partly finished structure run along the bottom edge, and a second, much smaller tower stands away to the left for scale. Everything is drawn in thin even lines with no shading anywhere. Openness is unusual for this collection and it changes what the page is for. There is very little to fill, so the pleasure comes from the structure itself, all those crossing diagonals in the mast and jib. Tracing the lattice in one color and leaving the gaps white gives the cleanest result. Anyone who wants a longer session will end up inventing the background, and the flat skyline along the bottom makes that easy to extend. As an architectural sheet it suits an older child, though a young one can happily color the buildings at the foot.
