Small machine, tight spot. This excavator is the compact kind used where a full sized one will not fit, and the drawing makes that clear by pushing a wall right up behind it and stacking simple city blocks above. The arm is folded back to the left with the bucket low, and a straight dozer blade sits across the front of the tracks. The cab is generously drawn, with a door, a curved window frame and a steering column visible inside, and a grille of short slots runs along the engine cover at the back. Rubble is scattered over the ground in small pieces. Buildings behind are nothing more than rectangles, which is useful, because they give you a place for flat blocks of color that need no care at all. Save the attention for the machine, where the tracks, the blade and the cab glass are three clearly different materials. Coloring the wall a single pale tone keeps the excavator forward. There is a satisfying amount of structure here without any of it being fussy, and it sits comfortably in the middle of the range for difficulty.
