A passenger jet crosses this page nose high, climbing from the lower left toward the upper right. A long row of small oval cabin windows runs the length of the fuselage, with a bank of cockpit glass at the front. Two engines hang in pods beneath the wings, each drawn with concentric rings at the intake so you can see straight into the fan. Both wingtips finish in a winglet turned sharply upward, and the tailfin rises behind. There is no ground, no cloud and no horizon anywhere.

This is one of the emptiest sheets in the collection, which makes it a good first page for a child who finds a busy drawing discouraging. The fuselage is one enormous shape, and the row of windows gives them somewhere small and repetitive to go afterward.

Airline liveries almost always run a stripe down the window line. Following that convention gives a cleaner result than filling the whole body one flat shade.

Those upturned winglets are not styling. They cut the spiral of air spilling off the end of the wing, and on a long flight that is worth a few percent of the fuel bill.
