Mushroom Used As An Umbrella Shelter

It is raining, and one small mouse has found the best shelter in the meadow. The mushroom above spreads out like an open umbrella, and five fat drops hang from the edge of its cap, sliding toward the tip and waiting to fall. Underneath, the mouse stands upright and perfectly dry, with two big round ears, a small nose, three whiskers on each side and a long tail curling away behind it. Its front paws are held together at its chest in the way a mouse does when it is pleased with itself. The cap carries four oval markings on top and only a handful of straight lines beneath, so the drawing stays open and bright. Two small clumps of grass grow either side of the mouse on a softly curving line of ground. Everything else is clean paper. This is an easy sheet to finish and a nice one to talk through with a young child, because the story is right there on the page. Gray for the mouse and a bold cap above will make the shelter stand out, and pale blue drops read as rain straight away.
