This little house is built out of two mushrooms stacked one on top of the other. The spotted cap at the very top works as the roof, sheltering a small upper room with a single arched window divided into four panes. Below that, a second wider cap spreads out like a balcony floor, and under it the thick stalk becomes the ground level, with a tall arched door set into the front. A ladder made of rounded rungs leans against the stalk and climbs straight to the door handle, while a shorter ladder round the side goes up through the balcony to the room above. A flat stone step waits at the bottom for anyone coming home. Small curling sprouts grow out of the roof and out of the ground on either side, and the whole house stands on a simple curved line of earth. There is a lot of white paper here and hardly any clutter, so it prints clean and colors quickly. Think about who lives inside while you work. A mouse, a beetle, a family of fairies? Once the house is done, add them at the window or halfway up the ladder with your own pencil.
