He has a bulbous nose, a long mustache that sweeps out on both sides, a wide beard falling in soft rounded lobes, and a pointed hat with a broad brim tipped over one eye. Beside him an owl sits on a wooden perch, and the owl is where the detail lives: two enormous round eyes, small ear tufts, a scalloped breast, and one long wing drawn in three neat rows of layered feathers.
