Winter Fairy With Icy Wings And Snowflakes Coloring Page

A winter fairy floats in the middle of this sheet with her head bowed, her hands drawn up to her chest and her long hair falling past her knees. She has four wings rather than two, and they are the most decorated in the whole collection: each is filled with swirls, eye shapes, teardrops and fine scrollwork, so they read as frost patterns rather than as insect wings. Her gown is drawn in long tapering points like icicles, and a hood sits back on her shoulders. All around her the air is filled with snowflakes, about twenty of them at three different sizes, each built on six arms with delicate side branches. Filling the corners and the whole outer band of the page are large open flowers, ivy sprigs, holly and curling tendrils, which gives the sheet a formal framed look. Use a cold palette and let it do the work: pale blues and silvers on the fairy and the flakes, and something deeper only in the corner flowers. There is at least an hour of pen work in the wings alone.
