Fairy Riding A Dragonfly Over A Pond Coloring Page

Here the dragonfly is the bigger of the two characters and the fairy is a passenger. The insect flies to the left with its head low, one large round eye at the front, four long wings fanning up and back from the thorax, and six thin legs trailing beneath it. Its abdomen stretches away to the right in a line of clean segments that get narrower toward the tip, which makes an easy counting exercise as well as a run of small shapes to work through in sequence. The fairy sits upright on its back just behind the wings, holding on with both hands, her own small pair of wings showing above her shoulders and her legs hanging down the insect's side. She is drawn simply, with few interior lines. Below them, near the bottom of the sheet, a wide oval marks the pond, and three round lily pads float on it with a notch cut into each one. The space between the flying pair and the water is left completely open.
