Sea Dragon Emerging Dramatically From Ocean Waves Coloring Page

An eastern style sea dragon rears up out of the water in the middle of this sheet, and the mane is the first thing you notice. Long pointed strands sweep back from its brow, its cheeks and its jaw in three separate fans, perhaps thirty blades in all, every one a closed shape. The face is fierce and finely drawn, with a heavy brow, flared nostrils and a row of teeth. Its neck curves down into the surf in a long ringed column banded into segments, with a ridged crest running along the back of it. Below, the sea is drawn in the woodblock manner: big curling breakers with combed lines inside them, spray flying off in clawed fingers, and foam scattered in spirals across the water. Behind the dragon a compass rose and banks of stylized cloud fill the upper corners in a much lighter line, and small ornaments sit in all four corners of the frame. This is one of the hardest sheets in the fantasy section. A cool palette of blues and teals for the water with a single warm color reserved for the mane keeps it from becoming a wall of pattern.
