Dragon Soaring Through Storm Clouds Coloring Page

A dragon glides across the upper half of this page with both wings stretched to their widest, and the span runs almost from edge to edge. The wings are the cleanest shapes here: each membrane is divided by three long straight spars into four open panels, and there is no texture inside them at all, which makes them ideal for a graded wash or four separate colors. The body is long and lean, drawn in profile with a few soft belly lines, four clawed feet tucked up beneath it, and a tail that loops down behind and finishes in an arrow tip. The head is turned toward the viewer with the jaws open and a row of small teeth showing, and a short crest runs back from the brow. Below, a bank of rounded clouds builds up from the bottom corners in overlapping bubbles, and the dragon's tail disappears behind them. The clouds are the promised storm, though nothing in the drawing is dark, so the weather is yours to invent. Keep the clouds heavy and the dragon pale and the picture gains the drama the title is after.
