The hedgehog crouches low with both fists raised in front of his chest, knees bent deep and feet planted wide, looking straight ahead from under a lowered brow.
The crouch is the reason this sheet is in the set. Most of the Sonic pages put a tall upright figure on a portrait sheet; this one compresses him down into a wide, low, braced shape, and the change is noticeable when the batch is printed together.
Both fists are drawn large and separated, each with its knuckle lines and a rolled cuff band at the wrist. They sit at the center of the page at the same height, which gives the composition a strong symmetry that the rest of the pose plays against.
His legs are set apart in a wide stance with clear white between them, and both sock cuffs are drawn as thick rings above the shoes.
The ground is a single long horizon curve running the width of the page with a second soft line below it. That is all the scene there is, deliberately, because the pose is doing the work and anything behind it would dilute the compression.
