The hedgehog is hunched low and winding up, knees bent and both fists pulled in tight against his chest, with his quills bunched into one great rounded mass behind him and a single ring lying on the ground to his side.
That rounded back is the thing worth printing. It is the largest single closed shape in the Sonic set, a huge smooth curve running from the top of his head down to his heels, and it can take one confident tone or a gradient from dark at the spine to pale at the edge. Either treatment makes the crouch read as coiled energy.
The ring on the ground is drawn as a true annulus, an outer and an inner circle with a band between them, not a flat disc. A band can be colored gold while the hole stays white, which is what makes a ring look like a ring rather than a coin.
The ground is one long gentle curve across the page with a few blades of grass picked out on it, deliberately sparse so nothing competes with the figure.
His face is turned down and forward with the brow low, which is what sells the concentration.
