A cube canopy tree stands on a square plot of ground with two blocky flowers growing beside its trunk and grass along the base.
The canopy is a stepped mass of cubes drawn in three quarter view, so you see the top faces of the upper layer and the front and side faces of the rest. It is a grid of large clean cells, and varying the greens across them is what makes it read as foliage rather than as a box. Few enough cells that the job is finished in one sitting.
The trunk is a tall column with bark marks scored into it, running from the ground right up into the canopy.
The two flowers are the nicest part. Each is a square bloom with a hole in the middle on a slender stem with two leaves, and they are the only objects on the page that are not strictly rectangular all the way through. Small, simple and clearly the finishing job.
The plot the tree stands on is a stepped platform of blocks with grass tufts rising from the top course, which gives the bottom of the page a soft ragged edge against all the hard lines above.
