The body is marked with a few long seam lines rather than a scatter of patches, which divides it into four or five big panels. That is a different job from the pig sheet and a better one for a slightly older child: the panels are large enough to take a flat tone each, so the cow can be made properly two toned without any blending.

The horns are the nicest small detail, two tapered shapes with a shaded inner facet, sitting clear of the head so both stay complete.

The muzzle is a separate box with two round nostrils, built the same way as the pig's snout. Repeating a construction across a set is quietly instructive, because a child who colored the pig knows what to do here.

The legs are tapered posts with a band at each hoof, and the far pair is offset from the near pair.

The ground is a few loose grass marks and nothing else, so the animal stays the whole page.
