Hello Kitty with an Ice Cream Cone Coloring Page

The little white cat holds up a waffle cone in both paws, so large that it covers her from the chin down, with a swirl of ice cream rising above her head and a cherry balanced on top.

The scale is the joke and also the reason the page works. The cone is the biggest single object in the Hello Kitty set, and its waffle lattice is a proper diagonal grid of diamonds that narrows as the cone tapers toward the point. That narrowing is worth the trouble: a uniform grid makes a cone look like a cylinder, while diamonds that shrink toward the tip make it read as a cone with no shading at all.

Each diamond is a closed cell, which means the lattice can be worked two tones alternating, or left plain with just the cell edges picked out. Both look right.

The ice cream above is a tall soft swirl drawn as stacked coils, so there are three or four separate bands rather than one mound.

The cherry is a circle with a curved stalk, sitting proud of the swirl. Her paws grip the cone from either side with the lattice breaking cleanly behind them.
