The little white cat stands in boots under a wide open umbrella with rain coming down around her and a shallow puddle at her feet.
The umbrella is divided into panels by its ribs, each one a separate closed segment running from the center spike down to a scalloped edge. Those wedges are the single best thing on this sheet: alternate two tones around them and you get a classic striped umbrella, run them all differently and you get a carnival one, and either way the page is finished with one object.
The rain is drawn as separate teardrops with white space between them rather than as diagonal streaks. Streaks are the usual shorthand and they are impossible to color, being thinner than a crayon tip. Teardrops can be filled, and filling a dozen of them pale blue is the quiet part of the page that children do last.
The puddle is one flat shape with a soft wavy edge, a single easy area at the foot of the sheet.
Her boots are plain cylinders with a cuff line and a small tab on the front, and the umbrella handle is a simple hook. Both are kept simple, because the canopy overhead is already carrying the page.
