The coat is left almost completely blank, with just a lapel line and a pocket. Partly that is the house style, and partly it is because a big empty white shape in the middle of a page is useful: it is where a child can put a pattern of their own if they want one, and a place for the eye to rest if they do not.

The stethoscope is the detail that earns its keep. The tube is drawn as two parallel lines with real width between them rather than as a hairline, so it can be colored as a solid cord instead of traced over. Nearly every printed stethoscope is a single thin stroke and nearly every child tries to color it anyway.

The teddy is a simple rounded shape with a stitched muzzle and two round paw pads, lying on its back so its whole front faces the reader.

The cushion underneath is one broad shape with a seam running round its edge, which gives the bottom of the page a large easy area after all the small work above it.
