A small wooden pavilion occupies the upper half of this page. Its roof sweeps up at both ends and is covered in rows of curved tiles, with the rafter ends showing underneath as a line of short blocks. Two square posts hold up the front, and lattice screens divided into small squares fill the bays on either side of an open central bay.

To the right a tree leans in toward the building. Its blossom is drawn as soft rounded clusters rather than separate petals, with a few single buds carried on the thinner branches.

Four flat stones run down from the front of the pavilion toward the bottom of the sheet, each one a simple rounded slab with a little thickness shown along its edge. Rounded boulders are grouped at the left, a larger one sits at the right, and a small tuft of grass grows against the nearest rock.

The ground itself is left almost entirely open, marked only with a light scatter of dots and two long horizontal lines. That restraint is the whole idea of the design. It leaves you a large calm area to keep white, or to wash with one very pale shade so the stones and the pavilion stay in front of it.
