The glasshouse faces you straight on, so its gable makes a wide triangle across the top of the sheet. Glazing bars cut the whole structure into a grid of rectangular panes, a beaded trim runs down both roof slopes, and a curled ornament stands at the peak.
One door has been pushed open to the right and its frame is drawn at an angle. That is the only thing breaking the strict symmetry of the building, and it is worth keeping clean.
Five baskets hang on cords inside. Four are spaced along the front at head height, each holding a plant whose broad pointed leaves spill over the rim, and a fifth larger one hangs high under the apex. Through the glass you can make out more foliage, drawn faintly so that it stays behind the bars.
Out on the tiled floor stands a row of containers: patterned ceramic pots with banded rims, an upright plant with stiff sword like leaves, a wide petalled lily on the right, and a small posy stood in a narrow jug. A mat lies across the threshold.
A field of outlined roses and spirals fills the background in a lighter line, and a long tailed bird perches in each top corner.
