Forest Stream With Mossy Rocks And Ferns Coloring Page
A stony creek bed runs from your feet back to a distant treeline, banked by fern fronds and big boulders.

The creek bed runs straight up the middle of this page, starting wide at your feet and narrowing as it goes back. It is paved with stones, and they are graded by size: big flat boulders at the bottom that take up a quarter of the sheet each, smaller cobbles as the bed recedes, then a scatter of pebbles near the far end. Loose ripple lines mark where water threads between them. Fern fronds arch over both banks, each frond a spine with paired leaflets stepping off it. Two heavy trunks frame the picture, one at each edge, and behind the banks a rank of conifers rises with bare lower trunks and branches only near the top. A further line of trees sits behind those in pale outline.
Those big foreground rocks are the reason to pick this sheet. They are generous, they are simple, and you can put real effort into shading a single one without committing to the whole page.
Try giving no two touching stones the same value. The bed holds enough of them that a repeat shows up immediately and flattens the whole run.
