Forest Animals Gathered In A Sunlit Clearing Coloring Page

Five animals share the clearing at the heart of this page. A doe stands tallest on the left with her ears up and her coat built from short hatching strokes. Two fawns crowd against her flank, both with their heads tipped back toward her. Across the open ground a stag faces them, his antlers swept back in two branching arcs. Nearer the bottom left a fifth animal moves low through the grass, long in the body and pointed in the snout, nosing forward with its head down. Tall trunks close in from both sides, and the ground between them is stippled with small tufts. Past the animals the drawing lightens deliberately, and a further stand of trees and a low ridge of hills are laid in with thin outline so the eye reads them as far off. A band of blooms and curling leaves crosses the very top and the very bottom.

Hold your lightest values back for that far stand of trees. If the distance gets the same weight as the foreground the depth collapses and the clearing stops reading as a clearing.
