A mixed bunch of wildflowers sits in a tall clear vase, with every stem showing through the glass below the blooms.

A tall cylinder of clear glass holds this bouquet, and the best part of the drawing is the bottom half. Because the vase is transparent, all the stems are visible inside it, crossing over one another and splaying out where they meet the base. Those crossings are drawn as continuous lines rather than being broken where they overlap, so pick one or two stems and follow each from the water line up into its own flower before you color anything. The bunch above is a mix rather than a matched set. There are wide petaled daisies with stippled centers, a broader sunflower shape at the upper right, small bell flowers hanging from thin stalks, several tight buds, a slender spike of little leaves and a handful of larger leaves pushing out sideways. No two neighboring blooms are the same shape. Outlines are thin and even throughout, the vase is plain with a simple rim and a narrow band at its foot, and the paper around the arrangement is left completely clear. A single accent color repeated in three or four places will hold this loose arrangement together.
