One tall top hat stands alone in the middle of the sheet, drawn large and with very little else to distract from it. The crown rises straight up to a flat oval top, and around its base sits a plain band carrying a square buckle with a small round stud in the middle of it. Below the band the brim spreads out wide to either side. Resting against the crown and leaning out over the brim is a clover, and it is worth saying plainly that this one has four leaflets rather than the usual three. Each leaflet is a round open shape, and fine veins radiate out from a small circle where they all meet, which gives the only fine detail on an otherwise wide open page. The stem curves down the front of the crown and tucks behind the band. Because the hat itself is three large plain areas, this sheet suits a young child with thick crayons just as well as it suits someone who wants to work a careful pattern into all that empty space.
