Wolf Stalking Prey Through Tall Grass Hunting Coloring Page
A lone wolf creeps forward with its body stretched low through tall meadow grass, drawn in fine fur strokes among nodding seed heads.

The wolf here moves from left to right across the middle of the sheet, its whole body held long and low, chest close to the ground and one front paw reaching out ahead. Its head is dropped level with the shoulders and both ears point forward, so the shape reads as one slow deliberate step. The coat is built from thousands of short flicked strokes that follow the muscle underneath, heaviest along the ruff at the neck and down the thick brush of the tail behind.
Tall grass fills the rest of the page. The blades are long single strokes that cross over each other and rise well above the animal's back, with seed heads nodding at the tips and a few small five petal flowers tucked in near the bottom. No second creature appears anywhere in the scene.
Work the grass before the fur, because the blades pass in front of the legs in several places and it is easier to see where each one stops once the field behind has a tone. A pale wash over the whole meadow lets you push a darker value into the clumps nearest the front. Leave the coat mostly light and save your darkest pencil for the ruff and the top of the tail.
