The wolf sits upright on a low grassy rise with its front legs straight, its tail curled around to the right, and its muzzle lifted just enough to suggest the start of a howl. Behind it a full moon fills the top half of the sheet, drawn as a plain circle with a handful of crater outlines and two soft cloud shapes drifting across its face. Nothing overlaps awkwardly, so a young colorist can finish the moon in one flat pass.
Line weight is heavy and the number of separate shapes stays low, which is what makes this a good crayon page. The ruff around the neck and chest breaks into short spikes that take a second, lighter tone nicely. Grass tufts sprout along the horizon and a rounded rock sits beside the back paw.
Two easy tricks lift the finished sheet. Color the moon pale yellow and keep the animal mostly gray, or invert that: a deep blue disk behind an almost white body reads immediately as moonlight. Either way leave the sky white, because the page has no cloud lines up there to contain a heavy fill.
