White Arctic Wolf In A Snowy Tundra Landscape Coloring Page

An arctic wolf stands on a snowy rise facing you, its ruff drawn in layered spikes and dry grasses breaking the drift.

The wolf stands square on and looks straight out of the page, which is unusual and gives the sheet its weight. Its coat is drawn as thousands of short spikes layered in overlapping rows, heaviest around the neck ruff and across the shoulders, thinning down the legs until the paws are almost plain outline. All of that texture is already shading, so treat the animal as mostly white and use gray or the palest blue only where a shadow would fall, under the jaw, along the belly and inside the legs. Behind it the tundra is drawn as four or five long contour lines rolling back to a low horizon, which leaves broad empty bands that fill quickly and make a good place to grade a sky from deep at the top to almost nothing at the skyline. Falling snow, small stars and scattered dots occupy the upper air. Dry grass tufts and a few leaves break the drift in the foreground, and a curling flower flourish hangs in the top left corner. Those foreground grasses are the only warm color this picture needs.
