Tiger Cub Splashing in a Shallow Pool Coloring Page

A cub with a round belly and a tuft of hair on its head stands in a flat oval of water, one front paw raised as though it has just brought it down and lifted it again. Rings spread out around its feet. Nothing else shares the page. The face is large, the eyes are simple dots, and the stripes sit as short open marks on the shoulders, cheeks and tail rather than covering the body.

Count the closed areas and there are maybe fifteen, which puts this among the easiest sheets in the set. A three year old with fat crayons can fill it without crossing a line, and there is space inside the belly and the pool for scribbling that stays where it lands.

The pool rings are the one detail worth pointing out to a child. Coloring them in alternating bands, or leaving every other ring white, turns a flat puddle into moving water with almost no effort.

Wild cubs really do play in shallow water from a few months old, which is unusual behavior for a cat and one of the first things that separates a tiger from a lion.
