This is the whole head and nothing else. It runs almost edge to edge, with two large round ears at the top, a pair of wide eyes carrying a single highlight each, a broad nose and a small curved smile. Six long whiskers sweep out on either side. Short stripe marks sit above the eyes and along the outer edge of each cheek, and the rest of the face is open paper.

Because the shapes are so large, this is the sheet to hand a child who has not colored much before. There are fewer than twenty areas to fill and none of them are tight. It also enlarges well, so it works as a poster print or as a paper mask if you cut out the eyes.

One suggestion for the ears. Color the outer curve dark and leave the inner oval white, which is how a real tiger ear is marked and which gives the flat cartoon head a little depth.

That white ear patch is real, and it faces backward. Biologists think the spots act as false eyes toward anything approaching from behind, and as something a cub can follow through high grass.
