Happy Cartoon Tiger Standing in the Grass Coloring Page

A young tiger stands on all four legs near the center of the page, body angled away and head turned back toward you with its mouth open in a grin. The tail curls up behind in banded segments. Five or six small grass tufts sit under and around the paws, and the rest of the sheet is left as white paper. Stripes run in tapered strokes along the back, shoulder and hind leg, spaced widely enough that a crayon will not bridge them.

The openness around the animal is the useful part. There is room to add a sun, a tree or a second tiger, and children who like drawing usually take the invitation.

For the coat, try leaving the chest, muzzle and the inside of the legs completely white rather than coloring the whole body. That is where a real tiger is pale, and the sheet suddenly looks far more like the animal for no extra work.

A tiger's grin in cartoon form is friendly, but the real gesture is not. A wide open mouth with the teeth showing is a threat display, and the relaxed version of a tiger greeting another tiger is a quiet puffing sound made with the mouth closed.
