A large starfish lies at the center of this page with its five arms spread wide, and two smaller ones flank it on either side. All three are worked in the same way: a raised ridge runs down the middle of every arm, and the surface on both sides of it is stippled with rows of small bumps that get finer toward the tips.
Across the bottom sits a row of shells, and no two are alike. There is a broad fluted scallop, a plain smooth cup, a tall ribbed cone, a domed shell covered in a fine net pattern, and a flat oval with a notch at one end. Small pebbles are scattered between them on the sand.
The whole upper half is given over to a drifting field of loose spirals, tiny shell outlines and small round dots, thinning out toward the middle of the page. A large open flower fills the top left corner and a curling ornament balances it on the right. This is the busiest sheet in the set and almost every shape is small, so a fine tip is worth reaching for.
