An octopus sits in the opening of a cave and takes up the center of this page. Its head is a tall smooth dome with no pattern on it at all, which makes it the largest single area on the sheet. Two round eyes with dark centers sit low on the face, and a wide curved line below them gives it a calm, faintly amused expression.

Several arms are visible. Two curl upward and inward on either side of the head, one loops down and around at the lower left, and another sweeps off to the right. Each is lined along its inner edge with a row of small dashes for the suckers, which is the only fine detail anywhere on the animal.

The cave is drawn as heavy craggy slabs that arch over the top and press in from both sides, split by long cracks. Along the bottom grows a band of branching coral, feathery fronds and a few rounded lumps, with one small fish tucked into the left corner. The line weight is thick and even throughout, so the shapes stay clear even where the cave walls overlap.
