Nineteen and twenty finish the set, and twenty is the one that changes the pattern. Every teen number before it starts with a 1, and this is the page where that stops, so say both numbers aloud and let your child spot the difference themselves. Nineteen still hides a nine in its name. Twenty does not hide a two in any obvious way, and it opens a new group of ten, which is worth saying plainly even to a four year old. The two numerals are drawn large and stacked one above the other in thick open outlines, with a round owl perched on a thin branch in the corner below them. Once the sheet is finished, count from one to twenty together while you point at the numbers on the pages your child has already coloured.
