Hot Air Balloon Coloring Page

A hot air balloon hangs in the center of this page with its envelope divided into tall vertical panels, a band of stitching around the widest part, and a woven basket swinging below on short cables. The countryside underneath is laid out as a patchwork, with fields separated by hedgerows, a road winding up over a rise, a scatter of small farmhouses and barns, and round bushy trees along the bottom edge. A sun with straight rays sits at the upper right, clouds bank on both sides, and two birds pass by on the left. Those panels on the envelope are the whole point. Running the spectrum around it, red through orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet, is the obvious plan and it looks superb, but alternating just two shades gives a cleaner result if you have fewer pencils. Vary the greens across the fields so the patchwork stays readable, and put a warm yellow into one or two of them for a wheat crop. The basket wants a woven tan. Keep the distant hills pale.
