Number 10 With a Rocket Coloring Page

Ten is the first number a child writes with two digits, and this sheet makes that the lesson. A large 1 and a large 0 stand side by side in the middle of the page as open bubble outlines, with a chubby rocket waiting beside them. Point at the numeral and say it out loud, then name the two digits separately, because plenty of children read it as one and zero for months before the word ten settles. It helps to say that the 1 has moved into a new place and the 0 is holding the space next to it, even if that only half lands the first time. Use the rocket for a countdown while the colouring happens, starting at ten and working back to zero. Counting down is harder than counting up and children rarely practise it.
