Letter W Is for Whale Coloring Page

This sheet gives the letter W both of its forms, a hollow capital W beside a hollow lowercase w, with a whale swimming below and a spout of water curving up from its blowhole. W is simply the letter V drawn twice without lifting the pencil, four straight strokes making two valleys, and the capital and lowercase share that shape at different sizes. If a child has already worked through the letter V page in this set, W takes almost no new learning, and saying so out loud usually helps. The name is the harder part, since W is the only letter in English whose name has three syllables and does not contain its own sound. The whale below is drawn as a few large smooth areas, a body, a wide tail and the curving spout, with no texture to fill, so it colours quickly at a big scale.
