Here is the seasonal sheet in the collection, and the one most likely to get printed in December. A plump gingerbread house sits on a low curve of snow with a thick band of icing running along both edges of its roof, dripping into a row of big soft scallops. A large round window is cut into the gable above a tall door that arches over at the top and carries one round knob. Leaning against the wall on either side of the door is a candy cane, each one drawn with its stripes left as open outlines rather than filled in, so they are yours to stripe however you want. Four gumdrops sit at the base of the walls, two large and two small, and a pair of flat candies lie on the snow in front. The shapes here are unusually generous. Icing, gumdrops and candy canes are all large and all closed, which means markers work as well as pencils on this page without anything getting lost. If you want the gingerbread itself to read as baked rather than blank, leave the walls pale and put your strongest shades on the candy. That contrast is what makes the sweets pop off the paper.
